Description: Cyanotypes of Rockaway Refuse was a public workshop, beach cleanup,and art auction in support of Laru Beya Collective. This community-centered project brought together local residents, artists,and passersby to collect trash and plant life from the Rockaway Peninsula’s beaches. Participants were invited to co-createsunprints using materials found along the shoreline and impressionsfrom their own bodies. The resulting cyanotypes were exhibited duringan afternoon art opening and auction, with all proceeds supporting Laru Beya’s youth empowerment summer program.
